Will I get killer abs through belly dancing? ^
Belly dancing provides total body conditioning. You learn to isolate movements from your head, shoulders, hands and arms, chest, abdomen, waist and of course to your hips.
Who may attend a belly dance class? ^
How long does it take to learn to belly dance? ^
Similar to any activity, it varies by student. Come in with an open mind and leave each class with moves you didn't know your body could do.
What if I'm a fast learner or I have previous belly dance experience? ^
Our instructors teach a variety of techniques and styles, so there is always something to learn. Occasionaly though, we hold auditions for our performance troupe that requires proven dance ability and techniques, choreography, stage presence and knowledge of Middle Eastern dance art history.
Do I need to purchase special props or costumes for class? ^
You don't need any special props for class. Check out the general class information page for recommendations on class attire, hip scarfs, veils and finger cymbals. A costume is not necessary for our classes.
Which class should I take? ^
Palmetto-Oasis instructors teach in several locations in the Charleston area so find an instructor close to you.
When do classes start? ^

What if I miss a class? ^
Make up policy is at the discretion of each instructor. Refer to their page.
Do you offer drop-in classes? ^
Drop-ins are welcome. Refer to each instructor's page for fee information.
How do I register? ^
You can fill out registration and liability forms on the first day of class. Check each instructor's page for registration phone numbers.
